Introduction to Adult Horseback Riding

Learn to ride on well-trained school horses from qualified instructors. Riders will develop confidence, balance and coordination, while learning about safety, grooming, tacking up, and control while riding. Suitable for beginners or intermediate riders looking to improve their skills.

  • $55 per lesson horse for drop in lesson $200 per month for once a week lesson on a lesson horse (4 lessons per month)
  • Lesson on own horse/lease horse - $45
  • $380 per month for 2 lessons per week (8 lessons per month) 
  • ​​Ring fee for riders who haul in - $15 per use or $125 a month plus gst

Cedar Vista Stables offers a full lesson program year-round. Lessons are available on school masters (school/lesson horses), lease horses and privately owned horses.

We have a diverse selection of lesson horses to accommodate all levels of riders from beginner through advanced. School horse lessons are available from once a week to four times a week with prices varying depending on the lesson plan chosen. Lesson horses are also available to ride in select horse shows that Cedar Vista attends.

Cedar Vista Stables has a limited number of high quality horses and ponies available for full lease and half lease. Lessons are included with the lease program. Clients are able to compete with their lease horses at regional and provincial horse shows that the Stable attends. Cedar Vista shows at the A show series in the Victoria area as well as the Arbutus Jumpers show, Thunderbird Show Park and other shows at this level.

For clients with their own horse or pony a personalized riding and training program is developed with each horse's and rider's education and goals taken into account. Trailer parking is available for clients who trailer their horses to Cedar Vista Stables.

Introduction to Horses & Ponies 2018

3-5 Years
Have kids that love horses?  This is a great way to get them started.  Children will get to come and learn about grooming and basic care with the ponies.  What they eat and where they live....then they will go for a pony ride at the end of the session.
